Teaching Staff Essential Qualifications for Assistant Professor:
Good academic record with at least 55% marks (50% marks for candidates belonging SC/ST/PH or those who passed their master’s degree prior to 19.09.1991 and hold a Ph.D Degree) or an equivalent grade of ‘B’ in the 7 point scale with letter grades O, A, B, C, D, E, & F at the Master’s Degree level in the relevant subject from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from a foreign University.
“NET shall remain the minimum eligibility condition for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor. However, those candidates, who are or have been awarded Ph.D. Degree in compliance of the “University Grants Commission (minimum standards and procedure for award of Ph.D. degree), Regulation 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor”.
A relaxation of the minimum marks at the P.G. level from 55% to 50% may be provided to the candidates who have cleared the JRF examinations conducted by UGC/CSIR only, prior to 1989 when the minimum marks required to appear for the JRF examination were 50%.
NOTE: - The eligibility criteria and qualifications for these posts will be as per University of Delhi norms. Candidates should clearly specify their category in the form (UR/SC/ST/OBC/PH).
