AP state government raised objections in right time on issue of language to the Central government holding for admission in to MBBS the new National common entrance test is only in English and Hindi language . But More then 20,000 students sat for Eamcet medical entrance test in Telugu medium every year. NEET in English and Hindi language is big problem to those students, not only to A.P,problem to all student who finish 10+2 in regional languages or in mother tong up to now.
AP officials respond at righttime to made it clear that untill the language issue is resolved not to go ahead with NEET Proporsal the majority of the students in ap and students who are having telugu as their medium will affect severely. Not only Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat and Maharashtra have already raise objections and notified the doubts over the language issue to the Central Government. Candidates are allowed to write UPSC exams also in regional languages, but NEET exam only in English or Hindi as it will affect the 10+2 Telugu medium AP students, more them 60% of then come from Telugu Medium
schools.

Candidates who are appearing for improvement of subjects in the Intermediate are different for first year and second year students. The news item published in The Hindu on Tuesday pertained only to first year students.

First year students who have passed all the subjects can appear for one or more papers for improvement. The better of the marks will be taken in each of the subjects. For example if students passed in the main examinations and fail in the improvement examination, the passed marks will be taken into consideration.

Students who have failed in one or two subjects and passed in the remaining papers can apply only for the supplementary examinations. But if they want to write for securing better marks in the passed subject they can do so but will forego the previous marks obtained in the main examination. For example if students fail in the supplementary examinations in the subject in which they passed in the main examinations, they will be treated as a failed candidates only.

For second year students there is no provision for improvement of single subject. They have to write all the second year papers including practical examinations wherever applicable if they want to improve their performance in any of the subjects. If they fail in any of the subject in the improvement examination his previous performance will hold good. If they pass in all the subjects in the improvement examinations they will have the option to retain the marks of either the main examination or the supplementary examination. They can't choose some subjects from main examination and some from supplementary examination. They have to take the entire set of marks of main exam or supplementary .

The uncertainty over the DSC-2008 recruitment has cleared somewhat, with the Minister for Secondary Education on Friday announcing the schedule for recruitment of secondary grade teacher (SGT) posts. On this occasion, Minister for Secondary Education announced the Government’s decision to go with the 70:30 formula, with 70 percent weightage to be given in the open category and 30 percent for D.Ed. candidates. The recruitment process will begin on Saturday, October 30th and will be completed in a week, he added. A whopping 26,700 posts out of the 30,803 SGT vacancie will be filled in the first phase.

The railway department has started computerised railway reservation system at the post office of Parchur in Prakasam district on Wednesday. The Union minister of state for textiles, Ms Panabaka Lakshmi, inaugurated the centre. She said that one more railway reservation centre will come up soon in Addanki in her parliamentary constituency, and this facility would enable rail users to book their tickets from any station to any station by all trains on the Indian railways. Ms Lakshmi said that halts for the KK Express and Jana Shatabdi Express at Bapatla was asked for, and expressed hope for sanction of the same by minister for railways, Ms Mamta Banerjee. The postmaster general of posts, Mr P. Sampath, said that all post offices will be computerised with online facility in the next six months. The director of postal services, Mr D. Sridhara Murthy, Vijayawada divisional railway manager, Mr Anurag Mathur, senior divisional commercial manager, Mr K. Sambasiva Rao, Parchur MLA, Dr Daggubati Venkateswar Rao, and others participated in the programme in which Ms Lakshmi presented the first reservation ticket to D. Subbaravamma of Pothapalli village. Meanwhile, people of rural areas are happy with the inauguration of the reservation service for rail journeys. Addanki and Parchur have no railway line but people from these areas travel on trains for long distance journeys from Ongole and Chirala. They used to go to Chirala or Ongole to get reservations, spending nearly one day, but now can save time and money by getting reservations at post offices.

The software works by scanning a person's configuration of eyes, nose and mouth and claims to be 90 per cent accurate. It can then comb the net for more photographs of the same person and, in tests, locate untagged picture which had not previously been seen by some of the people in them, reports the Telegraph. The managers of Face.com, which created the software, told the Sunday Times that 5,000 developers were already using it. Gil Hirsch, the chief executive officer, said: "You can basically search for people in any photo. You could search for family members on Flickr, in newspapers, or in videos on YouTube." Such software has previously been the preserve of official bodies such as the UK Border Agency or inside social networking platforms. Supporters of the software said it could help families unlock their history or trace those lost in humanitarian disasters. The Information Commissioner's Office said there were no legal restrictions on the use of facial recognition software.

Still another seven colleges were affiliated with the parent Kakatiya University. It is learnt that the Kakatiya University, which was earlier parent university of the district colleges, had reportedly encouraged the PG colleges of the district to go in for JNTU affiliation and issued NOC (no objection certificate) to several colleges. Though, it is mandatory for the engineering colleges starting MBA and MCA colleges to go in for JNTU affiliation. But, some colleges which do not have engineering colleges have also got the JNTU affiliation by using their influence and lobbying in the district. The sources said that some colleges have also flouted the AICTE guidelines and secured the JNTU affiliation in the district. On the other hand, some colleges, which have all formalities of the AICTE and infrastructure and huge campuses, have been denied of the JNTU affiliation due to various reasons better known to the officials who give NOC at the Kakatiya University. Officials of the Satavahana University have said that some private colleges have been purposefully approaching for JNTU affiliation promising pass guarantee to their students leaving aside the quality. The JNTU examination pattern consists of 40 per cent internal and 60 per cent theory. They urged the Minister for Higher education to take appropriate measures to ensure quality in the professional colleges by giving affiliation to the colleges to the Satavahana university.

The indefinite fast launched by Students Federation of India (SFI), demanding that the government improve facilities in SC, ST and BC Hostels and payment of scholarships for students, entered second day on Tuesday. The SFI leaders who organised a 1,550 km cycle rally covering 232 hostels in the district recently submitted a list of problems to the officials. As the authorities failed to address the problems even after several agitations in the last one month, the student union leaders launched the indefinite fast, said the federation district president and secretary . Students are alleging that the government was not paying cosmetic charges, not distributing uniforms, books, trunk boxes and blankets since last year. Many hostels are in rented buildings and are in dilapidated condition posing a threat for the inmates. Several hostels do not have toilets, drinking water facilities and compound wall and the wardens and matrons are not staying in hostels properly. The students are demanding that the government pay Rs.30 crore scholarships for SC, ST and EBC students which were due since two years, filling up of vacant posts in SC and BC Hostels, better amenities in hostels, proper menu and increase in cosmetic and mess charges. SFI leaders -- K.Tirumala, P.Kiran, Chinna, P.Narasimha and Rambabu were doing the indefinite fast.

The 48th State-Level Chess Championship and national level selections are going to be held from September 3 to 5 at Indira Bhavan in Nellore city, said the tournament organising committee president. Speaking to newsmen on Tuesday, he said the Nellore District Chess Association is organising the tournaments for the third time in the district. About 300 players, coaches from different chess academies across the State will attend the three-day competitions. District Chess Association Secretary said that players from South Central Railways (SCR), banks, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), Indian Airlines and other companies will participate in the tournaments. Free boarding and lodging facilities would be provided for the players. The top four players in the tournaments would be selected for National ‘B' Chess Championship to be held from September 16 to 26 at Haryana. District Sports Development Officer (DSDO) said that elaborate arrangements were being made for the State level tournaments under the supervision of Zilla Parishad Chairman and Collector . A medico hacked his friend's email account and sent abusive mails and was arrested by the cyber crime officials on Saturday. Police said the arrested man was K. Krupender bore a grudge against his friend Sandeep after the latter began moving closely with a woman who was their childhood friend. Krupender, police said, had also sent an abusive mail to HCL Company after Sandeep was offered a job. Sandeep lost the opportunity to work with the HCL as Krupender sent an ‘abusive' rejection letter to the company, police said. Sandeep then realised that his email ID was being hacked after his female friend also began receiving abscene mails from his account apart from offensive text messages from an unknown number. Believing this to be the handiwork of some known persons, he had approached the CID's cyber crime police station. Experts collected email details from the HCL and traced the Internet protocol address to Krupender's laptop and confirmed his involvement. During interrogation, he confessed to hatching the plan to spoil Sandeep's career as he was moving closely with their childhood friend. CID (Cyber Cell) Superintendent B. Sumathi said the accused sent 1,000 text messages to the girl's mobile phone hoping that Sandeep and she would part ways . A laptop and mobile phone were recovered from Krupender's possession.

In fact, Vishnu representing the preservative aspect of the universe, radiates these forces from him. As health, wealth and prosperity depend upon the rythmic play of these forces, the worship of Lakshmi is said to be to obtain these three. Only a woman can sympathise with women. Lakshmi is a woman. So she will more readily sympathise with women. Hence this festival is observed largely by women, invoking the blessings of Lakshmi on them, their husbands and their children.

Officials of Vigilance and Enforcement (V&E) department had conducted raids on timber depots in Nellore on Tuesday and recovered records from them. The Vigilance authorities had locked Sri Rajarajeswari Timber Depot, located at Vedayapalem in Nellore, for running without licence. They recovered timber with the worth about Rs.20 lakh and handed them over to the Forest Department officials, said Vigilance and Enforcement Nellore Zone SP. It was found that many timber depot owners are importing teak wood from Malaysia, Singapore and other countries and are not paying VAT properly. Investigation is on, said the SP.

The dream of Nellore residents to study under their university within the district will be fulfilled from this year, with the government empowering the newly set up Vikrama Simhapuri University (VSU) with affiliating status. For the past 50 years mostly, 80 Degree, PG, B.Ed, Law, Professional and Oriental colleges affiliated under Sri Venkateswara University (SVU), would come under the of VSU. Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education has issued orders to this affiliation program. Th State Government has given the Affiliating powers to six more new universities with in the State. By this, VSU will have powers to establish autonomous and PG colleges outside the university area in its limits.Infrastructure , the government has asked the university managements to increase the facilities like constituting of College Development Council, Academic Audit Cell, appoint Deans for all disciplines, Board of Studies for each subject, Examination Branch with adequate stall, permanent building, furniture and equipment. The AP Government has also issued orders by advising the SVU not to affiliate colleges in the jurisdiction of the new universities from the next academic year (i.e. from 2010-2011). V-C lists priorities Speaking on the occasion, VSU Vice-Chancellor said the university will strive to improve infrastructure, faculty and examinations systems in all the institutions under its purview and asked the college managements to cooperate. Registrar said that the university will not compromise in maintaining quality in education and steps would be taken to conduct the examinations strictly. The management will make surprise visits and cancel recognition to those institutions which are not up to the standard. SVU and JNTU (Anantapur) are managing the colleges in Nellore district for the past few years and there was a demand since 1954 to set up a university in Nellore with affiliating powers.

AP State Govt extending the Deepam plan

12,052 domestic LP gas connections were allocated to Prakasam district under Deepam scheme.
The state government has decided to extend the scheme to all poor women. Initially the scheme was intended only for the members of women self help groups (SHG). Out of the 1,840 connections will be given in municipal areas and 10,212 in rural areas.

The APSRTC is planning to launch online ticket issuing system through Ticket Issuing Machines . Conductors and agents can issue advanced reservation tickets to anywhere in the State to the passengers. As part of the ongoing ‘Marketing Schemes Publicity Week' being observed by the APSRTC from March 23 to 28, the CMM visited Nellore Region on Tuesday and enquired about the implementation of various schemes. The RTC was providing Concession Annual Travel (CAT) cards, Jubilee Hitech Ticket (JTH), Inter-State Hitech Ticket (IJHT), Couple Gift Cards, Monthly Season Tickets and free and concession bus passes for students, all worth some crores of rupees to the passengers. 854 agents are extending services to the passengers around the State on behalf of the RTC. The Corporation is planning to issue advanced reservation tickets to any destination in the State through agents and conductors soon.The officials had sent a proposal to introduce double CAT card system (one CAT card for two persons) in the region.The corporation was also planning to issue ‘Travel As You Like' tickets for the passengers permitting them to travel free within 15 km from the district headquarters.

The Intermediate student created tension among the staff by escaping with the answer sheet in the city. The student, T. Kishore, came out of the examination center along with answer sheet . The boy came to the college and returned the answer sheet on Tuesday. Venkatagiri Raja's (V.R) College chief superintendent Student had appeared for the second year Physics examination in Room No.40 yesterday. college staff observed the missing of the answer sheet given a complaint in One Town police station and the Board of Intermediate on Monday.But the student argued that he had hand over ed the answer sheet to invigilator. The Students Unions are saying that the invigilator was responsible for the missing of the paper. Narsimhulu works in a private school in the city. That student is from Narayana Residential Junior College at Narasimhakonda village in Nellore district. Today morning, the student along with his father and the Narayana College staff returned the answer paper, which was handed over to BIE officials. The teachers and the lecturers protesting the attack on the invigilator who had no responsible for incident.Nellore Town CI P.Veeranjaneya Reddy said the college officials have not informed the police about tracing of the answer paper and investigation is under progress.
